Area Director

US Dept. of Labor - OSHA, Manhattan Area Office

Began working for OSHA in 1988 as a Clerk-Typist in the Long Island Area Office.  Promoted to Safety Technician in 1991 and Safety Compliance Officer in 1992.

Transferred to New York Regional Office in 1996 as a Safety Specialist in the Federal-State Operations section.  Served as Regional Construction Coordinator from 1997-2000.  Detailed part-time to Bayside Area Office as Acting Assistant Area Director for Safety in 1998.

Promoted to Area Director of the Manhattan Area Office in June, 2000.  Responsibilities include managing all OSHA activities, including enforcement, outreach, and cooperative programs for the boroughs of Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens in New York City.

Following the terrorist attacks of 9/11/01, which destroyed the Manhattan Area Office located at 6 World Trade Center, served as Co-Incident Commander for OSHA operations during the ten month recovery effort.  Currently co-chair Regional Emergency Management committee.
